Working with Hoog

Engagements, briefs and deliverables

How does an engagement with Hoog start?

You share your requirement through the enquiry form or by email. A researcher reviews it, follows up with a short scoping conversation to clarify the decision, audiences, geography and timing, and then sends a proposal setting out the approach, sample, deliverables, timeline and fees.

What should I include in a research brief?

The most useful briefs describe the decision the research will inform, who will use the findings, what you already know, the target audience and geography, any deadlines, and an indicative budget. A short brief is fine — scoping fills the gaps.

How is the cost of a research project determined?

Cost depends mainly on scope: the number and type of research questions, whether primary research is needed, the audiences and how hard they are to reach, sample sizes, the number of countries and languages, and the deliverables required. Each proposal sets out the fees for the agreed scope.

What is the difference between market research and management consulting?

Market research gathers and analyses evidence about markets, customers and competitors. Management consulting typically focuses on recommending and implementing organisational or operational change. Research-led advisory, which Hoog provides, connects the two: recommendations are built directly on evidence gathered for the decision at hand.

What deliverables will I receive?

Deliverables are agreed in the proposal and typically include an executive summary with recommendations, a detailed report or presentation, and supporting outputs such as market models, journey maps, segmentation or interview syntheses, plus a debrief with your team.
